How does having the Super Card account impact my credit score?

Let's dive right in!

How can the Super Card help improve my credit?

You can improve your credit simply by using your Super Card to make everyday purchases. We’ll report all your account activity to the credit bureaus every month so you can make stable progress without even thinking about it. You can also use the Super.com app to check the progress of your credit score!

Please note, that it’s possible that you’ll see a temporary decrease in your credit score at first. Because your Super Card is a secured card, it’s technically considered as a new line of credit. But don’t worry, your score will recover once you’ve established a positive payment history.

Super.com will report your activities to Transunion®, Experian®, and Equifax®. Impact on your credit may vary, as credit scores are independently determined by credit bureaus based on a number of factors including the financial decisions you make with other financial services organizations.

Will closing my Super deposit account impact my credit score?

Closing your Super deposit account may impact your credit score because it could increase your debt-to-credit utilization ratio. The debt-to-credit utilization ratio is the amount of overall credit you have versus the amount of credit you're using. Creditors and lenders prefer to see a lower ratio of how much debt you have compared with how much available credit you have.

Does not using your card impact your credit score?

Not using your card every month does not have a direct impact on your credit score. However, if you haven't used your Super Card in a certain period of time, it may be declared inactive and may be closed. Closing your account may impact your credit score as it may change your debt to credit utilization rate.

Which credit bureaus do you report to?

We report to all three nationwide consumer reporting agencies (CRAs) or Credit Bureaus - Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian.

What kind of information do you report to the credit bureaus?

We report the following types of information to the Credit Bureaus:

  • Credit account information, also known as "tradelines

When do you report to the credit bureaus?

We report your account activity as of the 2nd day of every month. We typically submit the file mid-month, but processing times from the bureau can vary.
